Advent and Lent Anointing of the Sick communal celebrations are scheduled in the parish, but if a family member is sick and cannot make these celebrations, please contact the Parish Office 03 325 2770 to organise a time for one of the priests to visit.
Extraordinary Ministers to Housebound & Sick
Each week, Holy Communion is taken to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to age or sickness. The ministers also read them the Gospel and take the Parish newsletter. To become an extraordinary minister to the sick one should be:
- At ease with other people,
- Able to deal with the sick, or elderly, in a compassionate way.
All Extraordinary Ministers to the sick will be police vetted in accordance with the requirements of the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch.
